St. Michaels, forever linked with the Mary Jones story and walk, is still a place of worship that is used several times a year for various celebrations. Hundreds of visitors come during the year to visit this special church and not only because of the historic link with Mary Jones. And with all buildings, it needs to be maintained, there is constant worry about the fabric and construction of the church. The parish of St. David’s, Abergynolwyn, tries to keep it in good condition as much as possible, but struggles with the finances needed also for St. David’s.

We need your support, however small, to keep the church in Llanfihanel-y-Pennant open and honour the Mary Jones legacy. It would be such a shame if we had to close such a special place.

St Michael’s gratefully acknowledges funding from the Representative Body of the Church in Wales, the Llanfihangel-y-Pennant Community Council,  the Geoff Hill Charitable Trust, the Peter Saunders Trust and The Inner Wheel Club of Tywyn.   We have also received generous donations and sponsorship from the local community and visitors to the church.

Donations are welcome and can be sent to the treasurer of St. Michael’s and St. David’s. If sending a cheque, make it payable to:
